DP World Constanta is continuously improving the service levels provided to all its customers. With our productivity and efficiency levels, we have the ability to meet the needs of our liner customers and through investment in capacity will continue to do so in the future.

Underlining this commitment, DP World Constanta is constantly investing either by expanding yard capacity or ordering additional container handling equipment and in due course bringing additional berths on line.

Our customers can be secure in the knowledge that DP World's dedication to the industry has ensured that the master plan for DP World Constanta has the flexibility to increase available berth length and yard space ensuring that our terminal is a location where customers can grow their business both today and in the future.

Location

Constanta is the largest container port in the Black Sea and, with its strategic position at the mouth of the Danube Canal, is connected via Europe's second longest river into the heartland of the Eastern and Central Europe.

Constanta South Container Terminal is situated on the west coast of the Black Sea, at about 170 nautical miles North-West of the Bosphorus, 250 km east of Bucharest

DANUBE TRANSIT TRAFFIC

In contrast to other rivers in Europe, the volume of container shipments on the Danube has not been of much significance up to now. In the light of the double digit growth rates in the global transport of goods over the last years and the chronic capacity bottlenecks at Europe's major ports and connecting routes in their hinterland, now would be the right time for establishing container transport along the Danube with Constanta as the gateway. The cost benefits of using inland vessels specialised in container transport are significant. A look at the entire supply chain for Europe-Asia shipments shows that the frequently cited long transport times are not an obstacle. Moreover, as the environmental impact balance is positive, a win-win situation is possible for all involved.

Adjacent to the Danube – Black Sea Canal, DP World Constanta currently handles 1 barge service.

DP World Constanta offers a full range of terminal services such as: refrigerated container power and monitoring, container stuffing and stripping services, EDI messaging and on-site office facilities.

DP World Constanta has earned a reputation as the most customer-oriented container terminal operator in the Black Sea. Our investment in our people, technology and equipment will continue to deliver to our customers the best service levels in the region.

Safety

We consider safety and environment (S&E) of fundamental importance in every aspect of our global operations. We take seriously the S&E responsibilities we have to employees, customers, contractors, visitors, government agencies and communities.
Management, staff and employees are guided by our corporate Safety and Environment Policy which is implemented through structured initiatives and programmes. These are consistent with industry-leading practice and internationally-recognised management systems (OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001).

We strive to limit the environmental impact of our business, particularly by employing industry-leading techniques to reduce the consumption of resources such as electricity and fuel, and reusing and recycling wherever possible.

Security

Security is a baseline service we offer our customers as a leading global terminal operator. Customers entrust millions of dollars worth of their assets and their customers’ assets to our terminal. But as well as a responsibility to our customers, we have a responsibility to our people and the community in which we operate, and we need to safeguard our assets as well. We take those responsibilities seriously and are committed to maintaining top quality security services.

Our facility is fully compliant both with ISPS Code and EU Rule 725/2004. DP World Constanta has been awarded AEO (Authorised Economic Operator) certification in supply chain security management at its Constanta South Container Terminal on the Black Sea. Further to DP World Constanta's ISO 28000 and C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership against Terrorism) certifications achieved in March 2009, the AEO certification further enhances the terminal leading security status in the Black Sea.
